Think Pink: Ralph Lauren Fights Breast Cancer

Posted on 09 October 2011 by Iris

(New York) Lord & Taylor is doing its part with Project Pink, a series of events in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, at its Fifth Avenue flagship. Project Pink kicked off on Thursday night with Lauren by Ralph Lauren and Glamour magazine celebrating the Fall 2011 Lauren Pink collection. Ten percent from the sale of all Lauren Pink purchases go to Pink Pony–Ralph Lauren Corporation’s worldwide initiative in the fight against cancer.

Customers sipped pink cocktails, listened to some good tunes, and made donations to the Pink Pony Fund in return for a pink balloon with a special gift. Prizes ranged from $5 to $500. I won a scented candle (sad) but it was still a great opportunity to donate to a worthy cause. More fun Project Pink events are coming up at Lord & Taylor, with guests like Oscar de la Renta, creator of All Day Heels Ron White, and Executive Fashion & Beauty Editor of Harper’s Bazaar.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the Lord & Taylor flagship, an understated tribute? RIP Steve Jobs.

Collaboration Launch of ENK and White in NYC

Posted on 20 September 2011 by Iris

US-based ENK International and Milan’s White are coming together to help bring Italian brands to the US market, and vice versa. The two trade show producers announced their collaboration back in June, and their program will debut in New York at the February 2012 ENK’s Coteriewomenswear show.

The Stylester stopped by ENK x WHITE’s cozy party at The Tunnel in Manhattan on Sunday night to celebrate their new partnership.

Fashions Night Out

Posted on 09 August 2010 by Ritu

Fashion Week is approaching and I am getting super excited! Yes, it has the aura of being an uber exclusive invite only affair, but Fashions Night Out gives any and all fashionistas the chance to experience it and get a taste of the designers & boutiques without being a fashion editor like Anna Wintour or one of her poor assistants (a la Devil Wears Prada).

What is Fashions Night Out?

In simple terms it is an evening during Fashion Week in which retailers and some designers that may not have showcased in an actual fashion show and some that have host an event for the general public. Among the things you can expect to find is free flowing champagne, A-list celebrity appearances and if you are lucky enough, some great giveaways.

Do’s & Don’ts:

  • Don’t be fooled by my ‘open to the public’ statement and definitely do show up 30-45 mins ahead of time for the bigger events.
  • What to wear to FNO:
    • Don’t dress like you are going to a club.
    • Do wear an outfit that is trendy and hip.
    • Don’t wear uncomfortable shoes if you plan on party hopping.
    • Do wear your best accessories like layered chains and your best bag.
    • Don’t overdo your makeup.
    • Do put in the time to get flawless skin and try a bold lip.

Here is evidence of some craziness that went on during Fashions Night Out last year and based on this, I am definitely not going to miss it this time either!
