The feather-like detail on the bust is reminiscent of the Alexander McQueen peacock dress that caused a big fuss after being “copied” on Harry Potter but the sapphire tones in this dress are much more subtle yet regal. I have mixed feelings about over the knee boots. When they inch up to your thighs, it can look a little risqué but with the right balance of outerwear on top  it can work. To carry off the tall/thigh high boot look, follow three simple rules.

1. Don’t draw attention to the rest of your outfit and let the boots be the only eye-catching piece of the ensemble.

2. Wear a cropped jacket or a basic pea coat to off-set the risqué factor of over-the-knee boots.

3. Try a color other than black when buying over-the-knee boots so that people wont associate them with trashy ones.

Blake Lively is lucky. Not because she has killer legs and a great body, but because this great body of hers makes almost any outfit look amazing on her. Her long, lean frame carries this formal little black dress just as well as it did the outfits she wore for her trashy role in the film The Town. There has been a lot of speculation and some people will even swear that the Gossip Girl character of Blair Waldorf is based on socialite Olivia Palermo. Blair and Olivia both come from money (lots of it), are always impeccably polished, will never be seen without perfect hair and power hungry, as we know about Olivia from seeing her on the TV show, The City. After seeing the photos below it is hard to deny that Blair is a reflection of Olivia and that Leighton Meester was cast for the role based on how similar she looks to Olivia Palermo.

Leighton Meester, my favorite gossip girl starlet, wore this attention grabbing Versace Versus dress at Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out runway show at Lincoln Center on September 7th, 2010. I love the shoes but can’t decide on the dress. It was especially odd in the midst of more subdued attire worn by most of the guests. Do you like it or hate it?

I am counting the days till Gossip Girl returns to television and am glued to my computer hunting down on set fashion until then. I found this great photo on the blog Elite Gossip Girl Style Files of Chase Crawford and Katie Cassidy on set filming season 4.

Chase looks more stunning than usual in this fitted slate colored suit compared to the hoodies and rugby shirts he wears on the show. I can’t even begin to talk about how much I love Katie Cassidy’s dress here! She looks stunning in a Bibhu Mohapatra dress, with the sexy but sleek slit that is visible only from the side.

Blake Legsly, I mean Blake Lively, was spotted on set filming the next season of Gossip Girl in Paris. If you remember how season 3 ended, Blair and Serena took off to summer in Paris and get away from all the horrible and horribly sweet men (read Dan Humphrey) in their lives. A British tabloid caught Lively on set in Paris, chatting to the cliché Euro-cutey on a vespa and wearing peach colored wide leg pants (by Suno – Spring 2010 collection) that make her already mile long legs look even longer.
