Using digital magic, Dior has brought past icons to life such as Grace Kelly, Marlene Dietrich, Marilyn Monroe and more to accompany Charlize Theron in this ad for the ever popular J’Adore fragrance. CK One, the iconic unisex fragrance of the nineties has revamped and launched a new version of the scent. CK One is one of those fragrances that jogs memories of countless teenage make-out sessions under the bleachers, sun burnt smell of the perfume while hanging out on the grass by the river and the smell of perfume intensifying after the first dip in the lake. Man, I loved being a teenager in the 90s.
CK One Shock is the newest fragrance from Calvin Klein which debuted in February 2011. Will it become as iconic for the Teenies (what I’m calling this decade) like the original was for my teen years in the 90s?
The fragrance is said to embody the rebellious edge of current times and complement CK’s fashion lines. With punchy top notes of passion and poppy flowers, chocolate and blackberry undertones and lingering amber and musk notes, CK One Shock for Her is sure to be a memorable perfume.

What is memorable from summer? The hot sun on your skin, the smell of rain on hot pavement, flowers. Summer is associated with scents and fragrances, inspiring me to create a summer fragrance series, the first of which is by Jessica Simpson.
I Fancy You… that’s something you hear a lot in London. Well, not me but you know what I mean. It is quite appropriate that Jessica Simpson’s new fragrance is called I Fancy You.
Yes, it is a Jessica Simpson fragrance, so obviously it is “Romantic”. With opening notes of pear and apple essences, hints of tuberose and lingering notes of Amber, this has girly girl perfume written all over it, which I kind of like. I’m yet to sample the scent myself, but will dutifully report back, note by note.
Leighton Meester was recently announced as the new face of Vera Wang Fragrance, Lovestruck. The fragrance was launched in the UK in June 2011 and will launch in the USA in September 2011.
Leighton and Vera appeared in Harrods in London for the launch. Doesn’t Leighton look absolutely stunning in this photo? Can’t wait to see her in the ad campaign everywhere!
The legendary shoe brand, Jimmy Choo is about launch its first ever fragrance. It might seem odd for a shoe designer to create a scent, but if you think about it, being immersed in the smell of fresh leather, paint, etc. while designing shoes must have set the foundation for a keen sense of smell. Also, creativity usually has many outlets and man’s imagination must have inspired the olfactory senses of the geniuses behind the brand.
I can imagine this being a cute addition as a gift with a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes and am really looking forward to smelling it myself. The heart note of Tiger Orchid and base note of Toffee is sure to create a rich and interesting scent.
Tamara Mellon, the founder and Chief Creative Officer of the brand, is the face of the fragrance and will be seen on all ads to promote it.
Jessica Simpson may not have known the difference between tuna and chicken in the past but that didn’t stop her from launching an uber successful shoe line (I’m a fan) and fashion line. Her reality TV career is still going strong with a starring role in the VH1 show Price of Beauty, her personal life seems to be doing well too with a hot and heavy relationship with Eric Johnson and she has managed to keep her natural curvy figure on the ‘average woman’ size without too much scrutiny from the press. Kudos for strengthening the image of real beauty Jessica!
To top it all off with a touch of sweetness, JSimps just released her new fragrance called Fancy Nights. Being the all-American woman, with her big southern smile, long blond hair and old-Hollywood curves, this fragrance is all about classic old-school style. It definitely is fanc-ay!
