Amy Winehouse released her second collaboration with Fred Perry which has her iconic 50s style written all over it. The collection is very Fred Perry, preppy with solid colors but Amy’s flair is integrated in sexy halter neck styles and a bold Hawaiian print that has images of Winehouse on it.

Rebecca Minkoff held a “meet and style” event at Bloomingdales in NYC on November 6th to showcase her Holiday 2010 collection of chic handbags, purses, clutches and accessories. Minkoff, with celebrity stylist Mia Morgan and a team of editors/stylists from FashionIndie.com were on site to style shoppers and Rebecca’s fans and explain what is new and noteworthy from the designer. At the event, I witnessed a girl buy a purse just to have Rebecca autograph the lining! I’m sure she wasn’t the only one, but it was cool to see. Shoppers could also have their purchases monogrammed by artist Logan Real who was on site with his paint brushes and special leather ready paints to turn your Rebecca Minkoff purse into a true one of kind accessory. Rebecca, apart from being beautiful and extremely elegant, was the nicest, sweetest designer I’ve ever had the honor to meet. She personally took me around and explained the collection to me from her favorite pieces to the inspiration behind them.

The Holiday collection is made up of small giftable bags that can be perfect stocking stuffers if you really like to splurge on that or great holiday presents for any fashionable woman. I love Rebecca Minkoff’s bags because they can be very rockstar and work-ready at the same time, so one of her bags would be a great gift idea for your girlfriend, mom or niece. My favorite item was the Monogram Duo Leather Pouch and Bracelet Cuff because it adds a touch of thoughtfulness to a gift. I also loved the crossbody bags, especially this bronze one which is one her most popular items. Among other gift ideas that I loved were her crossbody convertible clutches like this one and the studded leather crossbody bag which has a strap that was inspired by a guitar strap. This bag is perfect for musicians or music fans (can also be read as John Mayer fans like myself). New York City is at its best in the Fall and two reasons why is because of the Fab weather and the even more fabulous Fall fashion. Events like Fashion Week, Fashion’s Night Out, numerous fashion showcases and presentations to name a few keep Fall exciting on the fashion front. Rebecca Minkoff is adding to the list by holding a styling event at the 59th street Bloomingdales on Saturday, November 6th, 2010. From 2PM – 4PM, shoppers at Bloomingdales can get a personal 15-minute styling session with Rebecca Minkoff, celebrity stylist Mia Morgan, and the editors of FashionIndie.com. I am counting the days till Gossip Girl returns to television and am glued to my computer hunting down on set fashion until then. I found this great photo on the blog Elite Gossip Girl Style Files of Chase Crawford and Katie Cassidy on set filming season 4.

Chase looks more stunning than usual in this fitted slate colored suit compared to the hoodies and rugby shirts he wears on the show. I can’t even begin to talk about how much I love Katie Cassidy’s dress here! She looks stunning in a Bibhu Mohapatra dress, with the sexy but sleek slit that is visible only from the side.

Bibhu Mohapatra joins the wave of designers from South Asian heritage who are sweeping the fashion scene like Nepal’s Prabal Gurung, India’sNaeem Khan and the half-Bengali Rachel Roy.

I saw this couple shopping at the Zara in SoHo over the weekend during Fashion week. They must have just come from one of the shows, or were headed there, because they were dressed and styled up fabulously. The mink, red Chanel fanny pack, turban-ish hat and heart patterned tights and white pumps on the girl and the skinny pants suit, navy scarf and blue thick rimmed glasses on the guy really stood out in middle of a store. I couldn’t stop peeking at them from behind clothing racks so I braved up and asked to take a picture to share with you!
