Spring shoes have been around in Canada (where I’m from) for years and has finally come to the US! I was invited to the grand store opening in Manhattan Mall last month to preview the store and sample the goods along with many other fashion and style bloggers. We were given gift certificates to pick out our favorite styles and take them home with us. Naturally, when you put a bunch of fashion obsessed bloggers in a shoe store all at once, mayhem ensues. The store got mobbed pretty quickly with over half hour long lines just to cash out! I took a rain-check and opted to come in later to pick up a really cool pair of Wingtip Oxford shoes that I’m absolutely in love with.
They are called Bramer and retail for $39.99 plus tax. I was lucky enough to snag up a pair in brown since it seems like that color is sold out on the Spring website. I styled them with plain black leggings and a white slinky pullover, on a Sunday stroll through SoHo (photography by Joel Zimmer).

Aside from seeing lots of grey nail polish on girls around the city, I’m seeing dark metallic shades in all the salons and will soon see them on stylish nails. These limited edition dark metallic colors from NARS were inspired by old Hollywood movies and are absolutely gorgeous!

Shearling is making a big comeback this year but not in the traditional tan style. This fall, shearling is hottest in the style of a cropped aviator jacket. The style combines the chic and classic shearling with a tough-as-nails look. Here’s a great way to style it, courtesy of Kate from Poland and seen on Lookbook.nu.

I was invited to an exclusive press preview for the launch of a new Pumpkin Enzyme Facial and the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Pedicure at Eve Salon in the West Village last week. If I had to sum the salon up in three words, they would be classy, friendly and luxurious. It felt more like an urban day spa rather than a salon as despite being located in the heart of the West Village, it offers a tranquil escape from the city as soon as you step into the long corridor that leads you to the back where all the magic happens.
Never having had a facial in my life, I was nervous at first but the super friendly esthetician, Eileen, calmed my nerves right away with her knowledgeable words and a cup of hot spiked apple cider (mmm). The Reveal Pumpkin Enzyme Facial that I sampled promises to reverse sun damage and hyperpigmentation, smooth pores and improve flaking skin. It was a totally relaxing and luxurious experience although I have to admit, I really didn’t enjoy the extraction bit. Anyone who has had a facial before knows what I’m talking about and why you can’t blame me. The facial definitely worked and I got many complements on my skin for the next two days. I even went two days without any makeup (foundation or powder) and no one noticed the difference because my skin was so even and smooth.
The Pumpkin Spice Pedicure was the most fun I’ve had with anything pumpkin related besides carving one out for Halloween! From the muscle relaxing Vanilla Soak, to the moisturizing Pumpkin Spice Vanilla Lotion and the exfoliating Spice scrub and interesting Warming Masque in between, I have never enjoyed so many variations of Pumpkin before. Being pampered with such yummy smelling products took my Fall beauty regimen to a whole new level. What a great way to kick off the best and most fashionable season of all – Fall!

MAC released the new Dare To Wear collection for those who are “loud and proud who daily dare to declare their own individuality”. The Dare To Wear Lipglass is said to have a holographic pearl finish which on top of high voltage color would look amazingly intense. The pop-art colors of the eye shadows will let you create an Andy Warhol portrait right on your face. I can’t wait to try this collection out!

Urban Outfitters is fitted with one thing and that is amazingly talented spot-on-trend-hunting buyers who stock up the stores with fabulous street savvy clothing, shoes and accessories. I’m always excited to pour over the Urban Outfitters newsletters in my inbox and this time, I found a true jewel on the latest newsletter.
With a funky twist on the plaid pattern, this shirt reminds me of what M.I.A.’s site used to look like a few years ago and what her prodigy, Ryerye’s site looks like now.

With this rapidly cooling temperature, flannel is always a good idea. I’ll definitely be stocking up on this and for just $38, I’d be silly not to! You can buy it at their stores or on the Urban Outfitters site.

Summer is winding down and the slightly cooler mornings and changing window displays in all the clothing stores reminds us that Fall is just around the corner. When it comes to fashion and style, I’m not a fan of starting to dress for the next season while the current is not yet over but in terms of picking a color for a manicure, I’ll make an exception.
Grey was one of the popular colors last Fall and beige or tan is a staple color for autumn anyway. I was delighted to see these two colors combined to create Fall’s bigger nail color trend of “greige” (grey+beige).
Greige was seen on Lady Gaga’s nails on the cover of this month’s Vanity Fair as well as on Sienna Miller and Scarlett Johansson in the tabloids, making it Fall’s top trend.

Yes, it is one of the hottest days of the year here in New York, but since Fall’s collections are already starting to show up in our favorite stores, I couldn’t resist announcing my favorite fall accessory to have come down the catwalks at the couture fashion shows in Paris this week.

Valentino showed models wearing these super cute bow gloves along with short dresses as well as evening wear.
