According to Ad Age, the Grammy’s saw the highest tune in since 2001, especially among a younger audience of 18-34. Why are we caring about the Grammy’s and tuning in more for the first time in 10 years? Because of the hotter starts, crazy performances (think Gaga) and great fashion of course. There are a few obvious winners when it came to fashion at the Grammy’s. Here are some of my favorites, including some underdogs like an old favorite, Janelle Monae.
Janelle Monae at the Grammy’s 2011. Always in a tux but always flawlessly beautiful.
Award shows are great for two reason – great talent gets due recognition and great fashion gets to ruffle its feathers. Here are my favorite dresses from the SAG awards 2011 including an honorary mention to the best tuxedo worn by James Franco. The general trend was to wear a formal flowing gown with a hip and casual belt. I bet this look will pop up during Prom season.

Miley Cyrus wore a beautiful white Marchesa dress to the American Music Awards on November 21, 2010. The short white dress with violet streaks had a giant bow in the back from which came out a long train about 6 feet long. The dress is gorgeous and couture but for some reason it also looks a little bit like a trashy “Vegas” wedding dress on Miley. What do you think?
The one trend that was all over the red carpet at the Emmy’s on Sunday was the dress with a train. The stars carried this off gorgeously and the always flattering style is rarely a train wreck (pun intended). Here are some of the stars that rode the train (dress) the best.
Summer is almost here and with it our annual obsession with white dresses. My perfect white dress last summer was this beauty by DVF. This year a more constructed geometric white dress at Reiss has stolen my heart. I found this gorgeous white dress at the new Reiss boutique in SoHo a couple of weeks ago.
What is Reiss
The hottest ready to wear line from the UK has landed in NYC – Reiss. What you will find at Reiss is clothes that conbine the sensibility of New York and the elegance of London for work and play.
The menswear boasts craftmanship and tailoring to transform any man into a commanding and confident guy, zipped up tightly in elegance. The same must be said about Reiss’ womenswear. The construction will lend a certain executive quality to your look.
Reiss Foxy White Dress
The Reiss Foxy Dress is a dream and I instantly fell in love with it at first site. It reminded me of the white dress Blair wore in Gossip Girl to the Hamptons White Party. If you are lucky enough to get an invite to the party, this dress is an instant winner. Just make sure no one else is wearing it as well since I’m sure a lot of fashion forward ladies will have same idea.
With a price tag above $250, it is one of those investment pieces you’ll find yourself wearing summer after summer.
The Fashionable Hollywood stars are sporting this simple but bold look this season. It’s easy to do! Just match your favorite print short of mini dress with tights and your favorite ankle boots and you have it! Diane Kruger, Leighton Meister and Claudia Schiffer were featured on WhoWhatWear.com sporting this winter 2010 look.
Make sure to avoid wearing a cotton print dress however to avoid looking too summery.
This gorgeous white lace summer dress/tunic from Diane Von Furstenberg’s Spring 2009 collection just might be the perfect classic white summer dress ever created (as long as boho-chic is your idea of perfect).
