(New York) There is some good news for our fashionable American Football fans! Hanky Panky have launched a line of Collegiate team lingerie. This lingerie is super cute as well as sexy for those who want to show their love of their teams both in their outerwear as well as underneath all the winter sport watching garb. These University of Oregon boyshorts are our favorite – but only because they could double as Green Bay Packers lingerie as well (we’re big fans!). The price isn’t cheap, at $36 each, but they are precious.
For those who want to show off their team fanatics to more than just one person who has special ‘under your clothes’ privileges, go for this Green Bay Packers V-neck Tee by Victoria’s Secret PINK. More affordable at $19.50, you can show off your team-love to the world and not to mention, make the boyfriend very happy if he’s a supporter of the team as well.
(New York) Leighton Meester loves her bangs and we love her in them. She likes to switch up her bangs and was last sporting this choppy fringed look. She has grown out her bangs slightly and changed them to this sultry wispy look below seen at the 100th Gossip Girl party last month.
(New York) I have been a fan of Rachel Roy’s for as long as I can remember. Well, at least for the past four years! I know everything about her like her background, her rise up the career ladder and eventual domination of fashion and retail. OK, fine, I’ll stop making sweeping statements, but the honest truth is that I admire the lady. Maybe it is because she is willing to share a bit of herself with the world via her well made, sometimes serious, sometimes funny and always creative videos, her site and Twitter. Maybe it is because I got the honor to meet her once and she said something very personal and sweet to me. Maybe it is because she is driven and has created a successful fashion company and retail brand from scratch!
I’ll stop gushing and get to the point. Rachel and team created this adorable Christmas video that I wanted to share in which Rachel attempts to cook for her team and disaster ensues. Watch what happens and get a candid tour of the RR HQ.
On another more sombre note, following up on her massive effort to Help Haiti after the earthquake last year, she is offering a collection Heart of Haiti jewelry, available on RachelRoy.com. These handcrafted pieces by Haitian artisans are each unique and proceeds from the line directly benefit the Haitian artisans who create them. Christmas present that is fashionable as well as charitable? Sign me up. This is going on my wish list.
Blake Lively wore this gorgeous Marchesa Spring 2012 dress to the Gossip Girl 100th Episode party. The feather-like detail on the bust is reminiscent of the Alexander McQueen peacock dress that caused a big fuss after being “copied” on Harry Potter but the sapphire tones in this dress are much more subtle yet regal. Blake’s gorgeous figure makes this otherwise boxy shaped dress look curvy and sexy. Click on this link for more details. Don’t you think Blake looks a lot more classy than her upper class character of Serena van der Woodsen?
(New York)Clostista.com, an online fashion TV network, that brought us the first Style Gone Social contest which we launched our Video channel with has just kicked off the anticipated second contest.
To celebrate their first anniversary and do something special for Cyber Monday, they will be live broadcasting features on new designers such as Jules Kim of Bijules, Elle Sakelis of Otrera, Alexandra Samit of Alexandra Beth Designs, and Nicla DiCosmo and Michel Bezoza of Gypsy Warrior. You can get involved by tweeting questions to the designers to @ClosetistaTV. To help the designers win, instead of a judging panel, you can vote through many social media channels for the designer of your fancy.
(New York) This week’s video features Sammy Davis, a dear friend and fellow blogger extraordinaire from New York. Sammy and I met about 2 years ago at the Independant Fashion Bloggers Conference and her neon pink leggings and gorgeous vintage black and white suede jacket. You can read about her life in NYC here and our adventures here, here and here.
Sammy is a vintage expert, blogger, fashion personality and video producer and host of some great features she does on vintage fashion and thrift store style. Below is her latest video on plaid which might have inspired me to wear plaid to work today (maybe?).
My colleague Ian and me in the office today – both sporting plaid.
I’m wearing a plaid/flannel shirt from Uniqlo and Guess Jeans. Ian is wearing a plaid shirt from Stussy, bought in NYC.
(New York) I got into Who What Wear more than four years ago when I got my first video iPod. I wanted to watch video podcasts on the long subway ride from my apartment in Spanish Harlem to my office in Brooklyn and the more fashion stuff, the better! My favorite videos, hands down, were by Who What Wear and I still hold them highly all things fashion, celebrity and stylist related. A close second were the Ford models video podcasts.
Here’s one of the video by Who What Wear creators Hillary Kerr and Katherine Power. Watch and you will see why I became addicted!
(New York) It is only the dawn of Autumn but our favorite designers aren’t resting. alice + olivia previewed their Spring 2012 collection in New York yesterday filled with pop-art bright colors, sequin glam and of the moment snakeskin. Some of our favorite pieces are below:
(New York)Hot Mess has been on my radar for months and I’m happy to finally be able to feature it on our brand new video section. Hot Mess is a show or web-series made by women and featuring women, chronicling all the laughable drama that is part of normal for us like broken zippers at inopportune moments or language barriers and inter-racial issues in Spanish Harlem (I lived there for 2.5 years during my stint in NYC).
Have a look through the episodes and you might find something you can relate to as well!
