I was pointed to Lauren Conrad’s beauty site, TheBeautyDepartment.com by one of my fave PR girls at Siren PR. I’ve always admired LC’s girl next door but polished California beauty and have been a long time fan of Amy Nadine, the genius behind LC’s looks.
Check it out:

Also, featured on LC’s site is the hottest new hair trend for the summer – Rainbow tips!

The trend alert also comes courtesy of senior Colorist at Cutler Salon on 57th Street in NYC, Dallas Walsh. In his words: “This new rainbow trend is an extension of the ombre looks we’ve been seeing since winter. We’ve had a lot of requests to add shots of color and tipping. Feather extensions were the big craze as we transitioned into summer but now that everyone’s wearing those a fresh way to make your hair pop is to add rainbow tips. The rainbow ombre is a fun, vibrant way to add a pop to your style and will look great on all hair colors.”
He also recommends that if you think it is too much to mess with your hair to die it so many colors, try the look with extensions.

I stumbled upon AB Chao’s website through the Apartment Therapy newsletter earlier on this week. You might be wondering, what is Apartment Therapy and who is AB Chao? Apartment Therapy is my new obsession. The book, written by Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan and by the same name is my new home and living bible and the blog is a daily destination. AB Chao is a writer, interior stylist and photographer based in Louisiana. I love the look and feel of the site and it’s great to read about a woman who can be successful, a mom and manage to remain cool! Check it out.

I stumbled upon this http://lifeandmusicc.tumblr.com while searching for Miike Snow’s song Silvia (Roboberget Version) and I thank my lucky stars for it everyday. This version of Silvia which you can listen to on Miike Snow’s Myspace is an amazing song and very hard to track down so when I found it on Life and Music, I was ecstatic. The selection and quality of the music you will find on the site is impeccable, in my humble opinion. I’ve been on a big house music kick lately (I blame it on my brainwashingly amazing trip to Vegas at the end of last summer) and this site has sort of become my drug. Even if you aren’t into house, you will find some great hiphop and even folk music (think Edward Sharpe) on Life and Music. The site also has a stream of the all the music hosted on it which turns it into a makeshift radio station for me during the day. Do yourself a favor and click on the image below to visit the site and discover some kick*ss new music!

Whenever I’m home for holidays or birthdays, I find my tween sister glued to the computer playing either dress up games or Webkinz. Sadly but truly I have found myself revisiting those sites even after she has left the computer room and finally granted me find minutes on the computer. I must admit that there is a certain addictive quality to each game and even the idea of combining the two is enough to scare me with it’s potential of becoming web-crack.
Well, my scary thoughts materialized when Fabsugar released a game that lets you play dress up as well as shop in a virtual world. Fabsugar & Shopstyle’s Retail Therapy game is like a dangerous drug because you’ll be hooked after the very first time. The game lets you run your own store (something a lot of women like me played make believe at the age of eight), order inventory, decorate, make friends and then compete with those friends to see whose the best virtual shopkeeper of all! With an easy to find leaderboard, you’ve now got the additional competitive addiction as foursquare. It’s no surprise that such a mashup would result in an unbelievably addictive game.

With endorsements from advertisers like DVF, Topshop, Barney’s, Banana Republic and Gap, who are also integrated into the game, the fantasy has a reality twist to it that makes it OK for adults to play it. At least, that’s my excuse.
I’m off to immerse myself in more Retail Therapy and dare you to join me. I’m ready to bet a hundred virtual dollars that you will get hooked too.
Play Retail Therapy with me here.

This nameless gossip girl blogger brings us the best fashion from Gossip Girl, often before it even airs! What I love most about his blog is that it IDs the outfits from the show so well and often provides links to where fans can actually buy them.
