When it comes to originality and arrogance, you can’t deny that Kanye West has a lot of both. Here’s his latest creative presentation and I’mma let myself finish by saying that this is the best Kanye video of all time, of ALL time!

MIA is my queen of NYC. Sure she was born in Sri Lanka, raised in London and now lives in Brooklyn, she is the queen of this city in my mind. The city must be getting psyched up for her concert in July because her tag has been popping up on walls all over NYC.

Nas and Damian Marley are performing in concert together at the Highline Ballroom tonight. As a huge fan of both artists, I am ecstatic to be going to the concert tonight but what do you wear to a hiphop concert?
Here are a few thumb rules to pick an outfit for a hiphop concert:
- Pick bright and bold colors! You want to be as loud as the music.
- Wear a bold lip and put time into doing your makeup and hair. Try out a funky rockstar hairstyle.
- Wear patent heels in a bright color like yellow. If you take a big purse, remember to pack a pair of patent flats as well since you’ll be on your feet the whole time.
- Show off your assets but always be careful. Protect yourself from unwanted attention and stay with your group of friends.
If you need a visual cheat sheet for a hiphop concert outfit, check out the below and have fun at the concert!

My colleague, the beat-master percussionist has been listening to this mashup at the office non-stop for a couple of weeks and it has grown on me. Actually, it’s grown into me and all over and now I’m obsessed as well. Tom Caruana is the genius behind this musical masterpiece called Wu-Tang Vs. The Beatles – Enter The Magical Mystery Chambers. The best parts of the collection are the Beatles Mania news snippets and interviews from the 70s. My favorite track on the album is Got Your Money followed by Forget Me Not.
Listen to the album on Grooveshark.com here.

Having danced the night away at a Tiesto concert till 8am, I’m no stranger to the crazy energy that he brings into a club. Teaming up with hit makers such as Three 6 Mafia, Flo Rida and Sean Kingston, Tiesto brings us his first venture into the new land of hip-pop, and we love it!
I can’t even imagine how much fun these guys must have had while making this song.

I went to see John Mayer at Madison Square Garden last night and what a great show it was! Although the stadium wasn’t completely packed, it was filled with the bustle of fans ranging from drunken teenagers to cute elderly couples watching the show holding hands.
Mayer started off with hits from his new album, Battle Studies, before going into different versions of his classic hits like Daughters and Gravity. His guitar riffs were amazing – he delivered as expected. Mayer usually likes to create his own version of a classic song by American singer-songwriters for concerts; his version of Free Falling by Tom Petty from his John Mayer Trio tour is one of favorite covers of all time. He chose Ain’t No Sunshine by Bill Withers this time for his Battle Studies tour at MSG. At the risk of sounding extremely sappy, I have to admit that John Mayer made the song cry with his guitar and my eyes might have been a bit on the watery side towards the end – but was that because of the music or all the smoke in the air at the garden? Despite the drunken teens with their fake IDs and grinding dance moves (yes, at a concert – they had to be from the Jersey shore), the screaming JM lovestruck women and a very smokey atmosphere I am not complaining. I loved every minute of it. After all what else can you expect at a concert by the guy that sang “Who says I can’t get stoned…”

What: John Mayer at Madison Square Garden
When: February – Thursday 25 and Friday 26, 2010
Where: Madison Square Garden, NYC
Ever since becoming obsessed with John Mayer and his music around the time that I wrote this post here, I’ve been waiting impatiently to see him in concert. I am extremely excited to go his show at MSG on Thursday the 25th. There are still some tickets available on LiveNation, Craigslist and Ticketmaster. Snap one up and join me in the pleasure of having John Mayer croon to you, entertain you with his witty/charming/flirty commentary (I wonder whether he’ll mention his recent racy interview with Playboy) and blow your away with his guitar skills.
