(New York) Some of the things I miss most about New York are the people – the cab drivers, angry pedestrians, lost tourists, douchy bankers, annoying hipsters and most of all my friends. One of such dearly missed friends is my buddy Joel. Creative and talented, he has been seen on this blog before. He still keeps in the loop with all things fashionable in the men’s style realm like these boots he recently purchased.

On the left are Alden Capped Toes, Cordovan #8 (from J. Crew). On the right are White’s Semi-Dress with a Capped toe on the Swing Last.

(London) I realise that I am clearly overdoing the ‘ster thing here but I can’t think of a better way to describe my friend Jason’s style. Preppy plus hipster, that sums him up most days (except for his lumberjack or skipper days). Here, he shows off the cool elegance of London men in a pea-coat and brogues. If black is the NYC uniform, then this is London’s.

Jason is wearing a COS Pea-coat, a COS Shirt, ALBAM Jeans, UNIQLO socks and Mark Mcnairy Suede Brogues.

Jason’s Mark Mcnairy Suede Brogues.

(London) We don’t normally post about magazine features although we devour every edition on a monthly basis but in the case of GQ Style, their current Autumn/Winter UK edition, we had to break tradition. First of all, Robert Downey Jr. on the cover simply beckoned for the mag to be bought. Open it up and find the best of fall fashion from the likes of Margaret Howell and Michael Bastian and features on the heartthrobs such as Joe Manganiello, aka Alcide from True Blood.
Here’s a sneak peak but gentlemen as well as ladies, trust me on this one, buy this edition.

This ad, seen on GQ caught my eye and you can see why. A simple razor ad has never been hotter!

Our fellow gentlemen stylesters, please invest in a Philips shaver if the results will look anything like the above! Please? Thank you!

When it comes to classic dressing, my friend Joel is truly an expert. As a denim connoisseur and Alden shoes expert, he knows the ins and outs of style and as an urban photographer, he has the eye for detail and quality. Ordering one of a kind denim from Japan with his own serial number on it is a semi-annual activity for him and he is often spotted in Alden shoes that were hand crafted over months. No matter how much thought went into making the clothes he wears, Joel always carries it with the careless ease of a relaxed and confident Brooklynite.

Joel is wearing G9 The Original Harrington Jacket Since 1937, a Thomas Mason for J. Crew shirt, Fine lambswool shawl-collar pullover from J. Crew, Eternal 811BIG jeans from Blue in Green and the Indy Boot by Alden.
