I stumbled upon Roberto Cavalli’s Official Facebook Fan Page and was sort of blown away by this amazing photo album I found in there of the models backstage getting their makeup and hair done. The gorgeous girls were made up in a rocker chick meets California blond look with copper smokey eyes and flat-ironed hair. The eyes had the perfect copper tone with lash to brow heavy shadow and a touch of wet looking shimmer on the lids. The lips were mainly a matte nude with a few girls wearing light lip tint. Below are some of my favorite photos from the album.

Andy and Debb, are two Korean designers who met in NYC while studying at Pratt Institute, fell in love and married before moving to Seoul to start their own line. They have been steadily growing in popularity and have been showcasing at New York Fashion Week since 2008 where they presented their SS 09 collection.
This year, Andy and Debb collaborated with Shu Uemura, the Japanese hair and makeup brand for beauty at their SS 2011 show at the Mecedes-Benz Fashion Show. Matthew Morris, was the lead stylist from Shu Uemura Art of Hair, who gave the models a frizzy candy floss pony tail to complement the collection.

Bobbi Brown has a long history in makeup. In addition to having a degree in stage makeup, I admire her for being the CEO of her very successful brand and for the use of “real girls” in her ad campaigns. Her messages is that makeup doesn’t create beauty, but enhances it, which I find is a very healthy way of looking at cosmetics.
Lord and Taylor held a launch to celebrate her newly released book on called Beauty Rules on Friday, September 24, 2010 where lucky shoppers had a chance to meet Bobbi for a book signing and get a free makeover with a customized face card.

Titmouse, Inc., a full service animation studio and artists collective headquartered in Los Angeles had a party to celebrate their new NYC office on Friday, September 25, 2010. Among comedy writers, animators and a general mass of creative folk from the city, a few non-industry people like an ad-chick friend of mine and I swung by to check it out. Having arrived a bit late, we missed the open bars and caught the beer kegs at their foamy dieing stage, but it was fun none the less! I spotted a really pretty girl wearing a super cute outfit who I snapped a few photos of to feature in the streetstyle section of TheStylester.com, so keep your eye out for her!

I was invited to an exclusive press preview for the launch of a new Pumpkin Enzyme Facial and the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Pedicure at Eve Salon in the West Village last week. If I had to sum the salon up in three words, they would be classy, friendly and luxurious. It felt more like an urban day spa rather than a salon as despite being located in the heart of the West Village, it offers a tranquil escape from the city as soon as you step into the long corridor that leads you to the back where all the magic happens.
Never having had a facial in my life, I was nervous at first but the super friendly esthetician, Eileen, calmed my nerves right away with her knowledgeable words and a cup of hot spiked apple cider (mmm). The Reveal Pumpkin Enzyme Facial that I sampled promises to reverse sun damage and hyperpigmentation, smooth pores and improve flaking skin. It was a totally relaxing and luxurious experience although I have to admit, I really didn’t enjoy the extraction bit. Anyone who has had a facial before knows what I’m talking about and why you can’t blame me. The facial definitely worked and I got many complements on my skin for the next two days. I even went two days without any makeup (foundation or powder) and no one noticed the difference because my skin was so even and smooth.
The Pumpkin Spice Pedicure was the most fun I’ve had with anything pumpkin related besides carving one out for Halloween! From the muscle relaxing Vanilla Soak, to the moisturizing Pumpkin Spice Vanilla Lotion and the exfoliating Spice scrub and interesting Warming Masque in between, I have never enjoyed so many variations of Pumpkin before. Being pampered with such yummy smelling products took my Fall beauty regimen to a whole new level. What a great way to kick off the best and most fashionable season of all – Fall!

Cindy Crawford’s beauty line, Meaningful Beauty has been around for 5 years but you may not have heard much about it. Well that is about to change. The products, about to hit the shelves at the Sephora outpost in JC Penney on October 4th, 2010 will surely cause a stir.
Cindy hosted a cocktail hour for bloggers in NYC last week to talk about her beauty line and give a sneak preview of what is new with the brand. Dressed in a jaw-dropping Roberto Cavalli dress to give us a bit of the “supermodel” who she is, she spoke about the inspiration and science behind the products, her long history and personal relationship with beauty genius and collaborator Dr. Sebagh (who is personally responsible for how beautiful her skin is at the age of 44) and answer our beauty questions like “have you ever done botox?”. The answer to which was yes by the way and I admire her for being honest.

Blake Lively wore this gorgeous Stella McCartney dress on Gossip Girl as her sexy and stylish character: Serena van der Woodsen. It retails for $3,785 otherwise I might seriously consider buying it. It is absolutely gorgeous!
